Our Rainbow Years

Dedicated to Mary and the wonderful team at Rainbow Montessori Sutton

As our last day together draws near at last,
We find ourselves looking back on the past.
With grateful hearts, we stand and say,
Thank you to the teachers for guiding us on our way.
Rainbow Montessori has always been much more

Than toys and a classroom and an open door.
It has been a place where children grew,
Learning each day through all they do.
Mary, your impact is plain to see,
In every child and in every family.
Your wisdom, patience, love and care,
Have shaped young lives beyond compare.

When words came slowly for Eddie and his confidence was small,
You never seemed worried Mary, not once, not at all.
Instead, you saw this little boy and all that he could be,
And helped him grow for us all to see.
The happy, confident boy he is today,
Reflects the love you showed along the way.
Your belief in him helped light his spark,
And gave him confidence to leave his mark.

Mihaela, with your gentle smile,
You have comforted and encouraged every child.
With kind words, patience and your caring ways,
You’ve brightened so many of our children’s Rainbow days.
Always calm, thoughtful and sincere,
Bringing gentle reassurance year after year.
Your warmth and kindness have always shone right through,
And has meant so much to so many of us parents too.

Louise, though newer to the team,
You’ve quickly become part of the Rainbow dream.
Strong and capable, thoughtful and fun,
Bringing joy to everyone.
Your experience shines through each and every day,
Helping children learn through work and play.

With energy, warmth and laughter too,
The children have been lucky to learn from you.
And Margarita, though she has moved on,
Her place in Eddie’s heart still lives on.
He still declares with great delight,
“She’s as nice as a Margarita pizza!”… and he is so right!!
Margarita brought such sparkle everywhere,
With kindness, laughter and genuine care.
The joy she shared will always stay,
In memories that won’t fade away.

At Rainbow, play was serious work,
A lesson Mary never would shirk.
Through songs and stories, work and play,
The children learned and grew each day.
They learned life skills and how to care,
To help themselves and to always share.
Through music, poems and Irish too,
Their confidence and knowledge grew and grew.

Every few weeks a new learning display came,
Igniting curiosity’s wonderful flame.
From feelings and seasons to Africa and space,
Dinosaurs, birds and frogs all had their place.
The human body, healthy eating and so much more,
Opened young minds to many worlds to explore.
Farmers visited, bringing stories from the land,
Gardai taught road safety and about lending a hand.
Zoo keepers arrived with creatures to see,
Opening young minds to every possibility.
And every December, with magic in the air,
Santa would visit with joy to share.

Grandparents, siblings and parents came too,
To watch the wonderful things the children could do.
Those Christmas concerts will always stay,
Among our favourite Rainbow days.
The songs, the smiles and proud little faces,
Hold a special place among life’s treasured places.
Behind all this work has stood a wonderful team,
Working together toward a shared dream.
Giving their time, their hearts and so much more,
Helping our children thrive and soar.

Your care was never just for the children alone,
You helped us parents find our own way home.
Through questions, worries and uncertain days,
You supported us with kindness in countless ways.
Today we thank you for every day,
For every lesson along the way.
For every hug, encouraging word,
And every child’s voice being positively heard.

As Eddie now heads off with pride,
To St Fintan’s with excitement by his side.
Ready for adventures yet to start,
but with Rainbow Montessori forever in his heart.
And Jacob too begins a new road,
With exciting opportunities to unfold.
We wish him happiness, success and fun,
As his next chapter has just begun.

To all our friends still at Rainbow today,
We hope you enjoy every moment along the way.
Treasure each day, each song and each play,
For these precious years pass quickly away.
So thank you, Mary, and your wonderful team,
For helping our children dream their dreams.
For seeing each child as a shining star,
And loving them exactly as they are.
We will always treasure these precious years,
The laughter, learning, smiles and cheers.
And though Eddie and Jacob’s next adventure starts today,
A piece of Rainbow Montessori will always stay.
